As bureau chief, Taylor will manage Mashable’s San Francisco team and oversee our reporting there. He will continue to expand our coverage of technology and gadgets, as well as the platforms, people and companies that drive innovation in this space.
Taylor comes to us with an impressive and extensive career. He was most recently West Coast editor of FastCompany.com. Before that he served as West Coast editor for Fortune Small Business.
Prior to his role with Fortune Small Business, Taylor was Future editor at Business 2.0, where he edited the "What's Next" section and wrote the "Future Boy" column for the CNN Money website.
Taylor was also San Francisco bureau chief for Time Magazine, where he introduced Time‘s readers to Google, the iPod, the Xbox and Netflix. He was awarded the Public Relations Society of America's 2004 Award for Excellence in Technology Journalism for his Time Magazine cover story on SpaceShipOne.
In addition to his professional work, Taylor helped launch The Bay-farer, a newspaper by and for kids at 826 Valencia, an organization founded in 2002 by author Dave Eggers and educator Nínive Calegari, dedicated to developing students’ writing skills.
Taylor brings a solid reputation and strong relationships, and he is no stranger to the ever-changing tech beat. We're proud to welcome him to Mashable, as we continue to expand our coverage and staff in 2011.
