(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- IT analyst company The 451 Group (www.451group.com) announced last week it has appointed IT industry veteran Eric Hanselman the organization's new research director for networking technology and related areas.
In this role, Hanselman will lead The 451 Group's networks practice, with responsibility for extending and increasing the value delivered by the firm in this critical arena.
"Eric brings to us an extensive, hands-on understanding of a broad range of IT subject areas, having direct experience in the development and application of a range of foundational enterprise technologies, including networking, virtualization, security and semiconductors," says Martin V. McCarthy, CEO of The 451 Group.
For more than 20 years, Hanselman has worked with technology leaders including IBM, Internet Security Systems, Sitara Networks and NEC. During this period he was involved in the introduction of many new technologies ranging from virtualization management systems to roll-outs for IPv6.
Most recently, he was chief technology officer at desktop virtualization specialist Leostream Corporation.
Hanselman is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a VMware Certified Professional. He is also a frequent speaker at leading industry events.
The 451 Group, which also operates Tier1 Research, Uptime Institute and TheInfoPro, analyzes the financial and industry implications of developments impacting public and private companies within the hosting, communications and Internet infrastructure sectors.
