      Now you can use Fancy Fonts in your Blog

      Below is the complete news about Blogger using new Web Fonts. Now you can create a blogger blog that doesn't look like a plain old blogger blog. This is great news to designers out there. Careful though DO NOT USE COMICS like fonts unless your blog is about comics.

      Read below for the news. You'll need to dive into the Template Designer of Blogger to use the new fonts. If you didn't notice, my blog already uses these new fonts AND I checked - it does appear the same way on an IPOD, IPHONE and IPAD.

      Blogger News Below:

      A couple of months back we introduced Web Fonts to Blogger in Draft. Today we’re excited to not only launch Web Fonts to ALL Blogger users, but also announce we’ve added an additional 35 fonts to the mix, for a grand total of 77 fonts!

      Henry Ford once said “Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it’s black.” When it comes to the Internet and fonts, sometimes this hits pretty close to home: “You can use any font you want so long as it’s Arial.” With the introduction of Web Fonts, this is now a far cry from the truth!

      Web Fonts, brought to you by our good friends at Google Fonts, let you spice up and further personalize your blog. Just have a look at what we’ve done with the post titles of this blog! And for those of you interested in fonts for non-latin alphabets such as Cyrillic, Greek and Khmer, we have those too!

      Ready to give it a try for yourself? Simply go into the Advanced tab of the Blogger Template Designer for your blog, select the type of text you’d like to change (Post Title, Blog Title, etc.) and click on any of the new Web Fonts for a preview. Don’t worry, nothing will change on your blog until you select “Apply to Blog”, and this means you can play around with all of the fonts and only make the switch when you’re ready.

      For the full list of fonts and more information, please take a look at the Web Fonts page in our Help Center.

      Go ahead. Jump over that lazy dog!

      LightBox Effect For Blogger

      Do you want to have some effects when you click the images in a site? Example: When clicking the image, the image will pop up.

      That effect is called LightBox. You may call it Lightbox, or Greybox, or Thickbox, but it’s always the same effect. Lightbox is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It’s a snap to setup and works on all modern browsers. Light box is a really elegant image viewer addon using javascript and the prototype framework. First of all i would like to give the credits to the original maker of Light box.

       After clicking one of the images.

      Installation Steps

      1.Login to your Blogger Dashboard or Draft Blogger Dashboard
      2.Goto Design > Edit HTML
      3.Find this code

      </head>

      and replace it with

      <style>
      #lightbox{ position: absolute; left: 0; width: 100%; z-index: 100; text-align: center; line-height: 0;}
      #lightbox img{ width: auto; height: auto;}
      #lightbox a img{ border: none; }

      #outerImageContainer{ position: relative; background-color: #fff; width: 250px; height: 250px; margin: 0 auto; }
      #imageContainer{ padding: 10px; }

      #loading{ position: absolute; top: 40%; left: 0%; height: 25%; width: 100%; text-align: center; line-height: 0; }
      #hoverNav{ position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; height: 100%; width: 100%; z-index: 10; }
      #imageContainer&gt;#hoverNav{ left: 0;}

      </head>

      Adding Images for the Lightbox Viewer

      Now you have added the scripts and styles needed for the lightbox.Next part is to add our images..

      You can also add captions to your images and also group multiple images into something like a gallery..

      First upload your photo using the blogger photo upload tool.Now switch to the edit html view from the post editor

      Now follow the 2 instructions in this image(Click to view a bigger version.. :))

      Be sure to delete the -h from s1600-h .Now you should see the light box viewer on your blog.

      Options Explained...

      adding rel="lightbox" title="Your image Caption" will create a light box viewer for the single image.

      If you are planning to add multiple images use rel="lightbox[albumname]" title="Your Image Caption"
      now if you want to add another image to this album,upload the second image and use
      rel="lightbox[albumname]" title="Caption for Second image of albumname" If you do this, lightbox will work like a gallery with next and previous links
