Okay, second FORA.tv video. And the second post in a row with a question for a title. Also, the second very interesting one. Jacob Needleman talks about his latest book, What Is God?. In this deeply personal work, religious scholar and philosopher Needleman cuts a clear path through today’s debates over the existence of God, illuminating an entirely new way of approaching the question of how

RT @Mashable: Baby Boomers and Seniors Are Flocking to Facebook [STATS]
A new eMarketer report shows that the number of Baby Boomers embracing social media, especially Facebook, jumped drastically between 2008 and 2009. In its Boomers and Social Media report, eMarketer takes a look at social media adoption among different generations. Results showed that while the percentage of Millennials maintaining a social networking site profile was fairly consistent from 2007 through 2009, the same cannot be said of Baby Boomers' social media usage. According to Deloitte data, 2009 was the year that social media bloomed for Baby Boomers, with nearly 47% of them actively maintaining a profile on the social web, which is up 15% from 2008. Further driving home that 2009 was the year of the social BB is the fact that from 2007 to 2008 there was barely a measurable change — just 1% — in that demographic's adoption of social media. From PW: Debating e-Book Pricing, Timing
Digital Book World: Little Consensus on e-Book Pricing, Timing By Jim Milliot Although the two panels were separate sessions, there was a fair amount of overlap yesterday at Digital Book World's eBook Pricing and eBook Challenges panels, including Kobo's Michael Tamblyn who represented e-bookstores in both sessions. The overlap was due in part because it is difficult to know what to charge for an e-book when you don't know exactly when it should be released. In general, agents and publishers seemed more united over when an e-book should be released--after the print book--than what they should be priced at, while Tamblyn and others favored simultaneous release of hardcovers and e-books. You can preview GaryVee's book up until 6 pages. Essentially it's a "website". Buy a "vook" and you get the text plus videos of the author. Looks like a blog on a mobile device (iphone, apple table, islate). So what's new? I don't know YET. That's why we're waiting for the 1am Apple Announcement Philippine Time.
How did I know this? Marketing Guru Seth Godin wrote about his own VOOK product before the apple tablet launches tomorrow. And of course I assume we all read Seth's blog, right?

Online Forum Marketing Tips
4 things you need to know today (one has a deadline of tomorrow)
1. Want to see how the first Goals Clarifying + Internet Business Overview Seminar was like?
Here's some pictures:
Let me know if you're able to access it.
Bottomline, this Satuday Jan 30, 1pm-5pm while others are trying to catch up on sleep or watching pirated DVDS, some of you will be joining me in assessing our lives, goals and if you're on track or not. Plus knowing how to run an internet based business. All in one afternoon that could have gone the same way other weekends have gone -- unremarkable, forgettable.
But for those who will be in Rosewood Pointe, those who will cancel non-essential activities like movies (again!) or drinking (again!) or afternoon meetups with the girl/guy of your dreams (you do this so often, I'm sure)...your life will never be the same again.
So see you some other time, then.
But if you're going, then the stage is set for the fulfillment of your goals. Why am I so confident? Because it's not a seminar you're going to. It's a workshop, you WILL be using the time to think about YOUR GOALS and YOUR WANTS and NEEDS. You will be asking big questions in that afternoon. Not like most seminars you've been to where you mostly listen.
I developed this workshop for you. The missing ingredient is you. So be there. http://www.bit.ly/rosewoodpointe for directions. Fee is P 975 for club members, P 1975 for others.
2. HERE'S THE TIME SENSITIVE THING. 2am Thursday night in Manila. Apple Inc will be launching the most popular and talked about device on the face of the planet since EVER. I will be sleeping - maybe. You might not be. As I've said a year before, once Apple does these events the WHOLE internet -shakes and blogs and talks about it. You can earn from this by creating a blog about the announcements but let me warn you:
a. Do not create a blog that just re-prints the whole announcement of the device. Your blog will be lost in the others who will be doing copy and paste.
b. Create a blog with a twist. Relate the event to something that you like/love/are interested in. For example: You like BLEACH, the anime, then create a blog or blog post that puts (example) BLEACH situations with the new device. Imagination is key.
c. Be cheap. Say you can't afford any device and you're just reading this on a rented or borrowed computer. Then blog about the device while comparing it to some "cheap" version of what it can do. For example if the new device can play games, you feature a game and patintero (w/c is cheap).
d. I don't think I have any more suggestions -other than use your imagination. If that fails you then you REALLY NEED HELP. Go to the next suggestion (e).
e. Open your eyes, if you see jeeps all the time. Then create a blog post about "What would the world be if everyone on the street (where the jeeps are) carried this new apple device?
f. Use a lot of words in your blog post.
3. VIDEO SERIES. There's an ongoing preview video series of an Interview of me by Aussie Lifecoach : Jay Mclean. Here's the 3rd and 4th video answers (not complete, but you'll get the idea).
Chirp! Twitter Reveals Its First Official Conference
Twitter has just announced Chirp, the first official Twitter developer conference. It will take place at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco, CA, on April 14 and 15. The conference, which will be keynoted by Twitter's leadership, including co-founders Biz Stone and Evan Williams, will be a two-day shindig. The first day will go over subjects such as Oauth, geolocation and business strategies, while the second day will be a 24-hour hack-a-thon for building apps and sharing ideas. There is actually a great deal of information on the quirky but rather elegant website, such as a teaser for the after party, details on the 24-hour Hack Day schedule and my personal favorite, a secret portal for creating your own Origami Chirp Bird. As a master of the ancient art of paper folding, I really appreciate this easter egg. Demand will certainly outstrip seats at this conference. Only 800 seats will be available (the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, while gorgeous, is not a large venue for a conference). The first wave of 100 tickets are now out, but require a little programming on your side — you need to use the API to find the username of user id 6253282 in order to register on Eventbrite. It'll also put you back $469. If you can't attend or don't manage to snatch up one of the 800 tickets, don't fret too much — we will be there to cover the entire thing. AmazonEncore to Publish Four Original Manuscript Submissions in Spring 2010
Four Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Submissions to be Published Through AmazonEncore SEATTLE, Jan 26, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) today announced that AmazonEncore, Amazon's publishing imprint, will be introducing four new books this Spring: "Page From a Tennessee Journal" by Francine Thomas Howard; "Greyhound" by Steffan Piper; "A Cruel Harvest" by Paul Reid; and "Crossing" by Andrew Fukuda. These books were all submitted for the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest, the international contest co-sponsored by Amazon.com, CreateSpace and Penguin Group (USA) that seeks to discover the next popular novel. This is the first time AmazonEncore has published original manuscripts. The AmazonEncore editions of these forthcoming novels will be available in print format at www.amazon.com and as wireless digital downloads from the Kindle Store in less than 60 seconds. For more information on AmazonEncore and upcoming titles, visit http://www.amazon.com/encore. "Now in its third year, the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest brings in many worthy manuscripts," said Jeff Belle, Vice President, Amazon.com Books. "We've identified these four manuscripts as examples of authors whose work we think deserves a larger audience, and we're excited to help these authors find their readers." Author Francine Thomas Howard based "Page From a Tennessee Journal" on a well-guarded family secret. The debut novel is about the lives of two Southern farming families--one white, one black--and their interconnected lives set in racially oppressive Tennessee a century ago. The San Francisco Bay Area-based author left her career in pediatric occupational therapy to pursue her first love: writing. "Page From a Tennessee Journal" will be published in March 2010. Steffan Piper's "Greyhound" is set in the early '80s, and tells the story of 12-year-old Sebastien Ranes, who travels 2,000 miles across the country on a Greyhound bus, chronicling the lessons he learns and people he meets along the way. Piper, based in Los Angeles, had previously self-published one novel and three books of poetry. "Greyhound" will also be published in March 2010. "A Cruel Harvest" tells the epic tale of two young lovers who are separated in a pirate raid on their Irish fishing village and forced to face terrible danger at the hands of tyrants in order to be reunited. The novel, set in 1790, stretches from the windswept coast of Ireland to the sun-baked hills of Morocco. The author, Paul Reid, was born and raised in Cork, and lives on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Cork Harbour. "A Cruel Harvest" will be published in April 2010. Andrew Fukuda's "Crossing," a debut novel that explores the Asian-American immigrant experience in modern-day America, and exposes the day-to-day cruelty of life in high schools, was inspired by the author's time spent working with immigrant teenagers in Manhattan's Chinatown. The half-Chinese, half-Japanese Fukuda lives on Long Island, New York. "Crossing" will be published in May 2010. Announced in May 2009, AmazonEncore is a program which identifies exceptional books and emerging authors using information on Amazon.com, such as customer reviews and sales data. Amazon then works with the authors to introduce or re-introduce their books to readers through marketing and distribution into multiple channels and formats, such as the Amazon Books Store, Amazon Kindle Store, www.Audible.com, and national and independent bookstores via third-party wholesalers. AmazonEncore is a brand owned by Amazon Content Services, LLC. Galleys of these titles are available for media and can be obtained by e-mailing encore-pr@amazon.com. About Amazon.com Amazon.com, Inc.
